Come join Rik Emmett, lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Triumph, for a special performance at Tupelo! Rik will be performing a mix of classics, acoustic , jazz and blues, as well as performing as part of the Strung Out Troubadours with guitarist Dave Dunlop. It is a show not to be missed as these two master guitarists duke it out on stage.
Rik returns to Poor David’s Pub in Dallas for the fourth consecutive year and will perform an intimate acoustic concert along with Dave Dunlop (the Troubs) in support of their new album/cd “reCOVERy room 9“.
Rik performed as a guest artist with fantasy rock band “Sonic Elements” on a cover of the song “Red Barchetta” which features drums performed by legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart. Aspiring musicians can attend a Songwriters Workshop led by Rik Emmett. The workshop will feature valuable information about music composition, lyric writing, and the business of songwriting, with the highlight of the day being the “Demo Makeover”.
Emmett will be hitting the Capitol Theatre stage at 8pm for an Acoustic Night of Triumph Hits. He will be accompanied by Emmy-winning composer and musician Don Breithaupt to present classic hits such as “Lay It On The Line”, “Magic Power”, “Hold On” and “Suitcase Blues” in a way you’ve never heard before.
