Songwriters Workshop
with Rik Emmett
Aspiring musicians can attend a Songwriters Workshop led by Rik Emmett, the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist for the Canadian Rock band Triumph. On top of his industry experience, Rik is an innovative music educator of long standing with Humber College in Toronto, and is the Artistic Director of the annual Songstudio Songwriting Workshop which made him the perfect facilitator for this event.
The workshop will feature valuable information about music composition, lyric writing, and the business of songwriting, with the highlight of the day being the “Demo Makeover” which will provide an opportunity for musicians to get honest feedback on their demo songs from industry professionals.
Rik will be joined by professionals from the radio industry, entertainment law and digital marketing.
Emmett will be hitting the Capitol Theatre stage at 8pm for an Acoustic Night of Triumph Hits. He will be accompanied by Emmy-winning composer and musician Don Breithaupt to present classic hits such as “Lay It On The Line”, “Magic Power”, “Hold On” and “Suitcase Blues” in a way you’ve never heard before.
